CHS offers a welcoming, affordable community room for meetings, workshops, private events, and fundraisers — and every rental directly supports the animals in our care.

About the Community Room

The CHS community room is available for a wide range of events and gatherings. The space is equipped with tables, chairs, and amenities to suit your needs, and rental is available at $100 per hour. Birthday Party Package — Ages 6 to 12

For $250, CHS hosts a two-hour birthday party experience that combines celebration with hands-on animal activities — making it one of the most memorable birthday options in Jackson County. The birthday child receives a CHS t-shirt and the unique opportunity to name one of our future shelter animals. Once an animal is given the chosen name, CHS sends a photo of that animal by email — a gift that outlasts the party itself.


Parties accommodate up to 18 children (anyone under 18, including siblings, counts toward this total) and up to 10 adults. Additional fees may apply for parties exceeding capacity limits.

Sample party schedule:

  • 0:00 – 0:30: Guests arrive, learn about CHS, and visit with adoptable animals
  • 0:30 – 0:45: Guests make treats for the shelter animals
  • 0:45 – 1:15: Shelter tour and treat distribution to the animals
  • 1:15 – 2:00: Celebration time — bring your own food, drinks, cake, games, and decorations

  • How much does it cost to rent the CHS community room?

    General community room rental is $100 per hour. The birthday party package is a flat $250 for two hours, which includes the full party program, animal activities, shelter tour, and birthday gifts for the child.     Yes. The 45-minute celebration portion of the party is yours to fill — bring food, drinks, cake, ice cream, games, and decorations. CHS provides access to a sink, refrigerator, and counter space to help with setup and serving.
